Tony has provided professional services to business proprietors, entrepreneurs, Local Government Authorities and private clients for more than 25 years, including over 20 years as owner of his own legal firm. Businesses that have benefited from Tony’s professional services range from small consultancies through to large companies listed on the Australian stock exchange.
Tony holds degrees in both commerce and law from the University of Queensland and is admitted to practice as a legal practitioner in the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia and is a member of the Australian tax institute.
His professional career commenced in 1988 while working for a multinational professional services firm when practicing in the areas of taxation and business services. Tony subsequently worked in a number of other professional service firms specializing in the areas of insolvency, property, business and commercial law.
During his career, Tony has also worked as corporate legal counsel at a leading Australian retail franchisor. He has also acted as the sole in-house counsel for an ASX listed national retailer of automotive accessories and leisure products.
Tony’s current practice focuses on business transactions, commercial property matters, local government law, wills and estate planning law.
He has advised business clients from a wide range of industries including retail, manufacturing, transport and logistics, construction, local government, real estate and development, finance, information technology, health, wealth creation and business advisory.
Tony also has extensive experience advising private clients about their personal legal matters, principally with respect to asset protection, estate administration, wills and estate planning.
Away from work Tony’s interests include cycling, photography, surfing, stand up paddle boarding and family activities.
George Makridakis
Special Counsel
Background:
George is a special counsel with over 25 years’ experience and practices across a broad spectrum of commercial legal services.
George completed his law degree at the Queensland University of Technology in 1983 and followed with a graduate diploma in legal practice in 1984.
During his legal career George has represented clients in various areas of practice, including:
- commercial law (including contract matters, dispute resolution and litigation)
- business transactions
- property development
- conveyancing (commercial and residential)
- leasing (commercial and retail)
- body corporate matters including creation and dealing with disputes
- loan and security documentation preparation and advice
- commercial and property litigation
- bankruptcy advice
- wills and enduring powers of attorney
- deceased estates and estate planning
George is a senior practitioner with a focus on delivering no nonsense advice, with an emphasis on using plain English and managing matters in a cost-efficient manner. This approach has resulted in George forming many longstanding relationships with both business and personal services clients. George is fluent in both English and Greek.

Paige Hogan
Personal Assistant
Background:
Paige assist with both administrative tasks and para-legal duties. She is very popular amongst clients of the firm and has a great enthusiasm to develop her legal skills. She has currently undertaking a Bachelor of Laws degree and will be completing her studies part time while continuing her role at Adams & Ross lawyers.
